Episodes of the 3rd Season of Hip Hot Quartet

Hip Hop Quartet , an office comedy which is sponsored by Master Kong, has set its theme for the first season as sweet, pleasure and health.

Compared with the ad implantation of movie or TV shows, the web playlet implantation is more flexible in plot-designing and actor selecting. As to Hip Hop Quartet, both of the style and plots are specifically designed for Master Kong Green Tea who has successfully set up a good explaination and reputation of itself from these vedioes. Besides, the ratio of cost & gain is quite high of this web playlet implantation.

BMW also showed interests in the 2nd season of Hip Hot Quartet.

Till now Hip Hop Quartet has released 3 seasons and keeps good cooperation with Master Kong. This amusing office playlet has make the audiences become more and more interested in Master Kong Green Tea. Tao Guonan, the Green Tea Product Manager of Planning Department of Master Kong's Drink Business Group, has said that this is a nice trial in planting-sales and an innovation for Master Kong

to break through its traditional brand image. He also hops that the audience will be amused by this playlet, just llike being amused by drinking Master Kong Green Tea.

In 2008 Unilever PLC had established the symbiosis with Hunan TV in creating the amusing soap opera Ugly Wudi which was an adaptation of the famous comedy Ugly Betty to resolve the problems they had met in their sales of beauty products in Chinese market.

Campaign for Real Beauty, which had been launched in 2004 by Unilever PLC, gained a great success in both the US & the European countries. Anyway, it failed in China and this made Unilever to have an introspection of their brand promotion strategy again. And finally they found the problem. "There is an ideaistic chasm between our ad content and the opinion of Chinese people whose biggest enemies are themselves. And this is what we are going to break in the coming future!" Said Mike Bryce, the Brand Development Manager of Asia.

In Ugly Wudi (First Season), Unilever had successfully in implanting their 3 main brands—Clear, Lipton and Dove into the plot and made them appear once in even several minutes. And the story line of Ugly Wudi had also centred on the Campaign for Real Beauty which Unilever had specifically designed for their Chinese market.

"There are many types of women, so there will be various types of beauty. And this is what Dove always wants to express!" said by an character who played as the Chinese Media Director of Dove when he was having a meeting with Lin Wudi (heroine of Ugly Wudi). Such kind of ad compaign appeared a lot in this amusing soap opera. The logo/ product/ packaging of Clear/ Lipton/ Dove had also turned up in the regular place and this had absolutely enhanced the visual memory of the audience/ consumer and made a strong effect in arousing people's interests in remembering the brand/ product.

Unilever had also made thier ad compaign a collaboration of still ad & active ad. The still ad is a visual feast, but it seriously belies the function & enjoyment of auditory feeling. By combining these 2 types of ad forms， Unilever strengthened the consumer's notice of their products successfully.

According to the cooperation, Unilever PLC and Hunan Tv had got a win-win result as the fomer had established their brand popularity and reputation effectively meanwhile the latter gained great benifit from the implantation of ad compaign in Ugly Wudi. Moreover, Unilever PLC had developed a fire-new approach in the implantation of ad in teleplay.

Their symbiosis has lasted for 3 years long and till now Ugly Wudi has alreay released the 4th season which is named as the Perfect Season.
Since 1986, the year in which Unilever PLC stepped into Chinese market, its been 23 years and the products of Unilever have reached almost every area in Chinese families. And in 2010, Unilever PLC will continue their business in Food & Daily Health Product in China market while their arch rival Procter & Gamble Co. is trying to reducing the investment in Food industry. Paul Polman, the new CEO who has joined Unilever PLC on 30, November, 2009, indicates that in the last 4 years the saleroom of Unilever in China has increased 100% and the target of the coming 4 years is to increase another 100%. The rounded system, which includes researching, purchasing and manufacturing ability, will be generally set up in China. And as a result, China will become an indispensable part of Unilever's Globle system.

"My Computer, My Stage", a paltform which has been established 3 years ago by HP and now it's going to shoot out the latest movie of which the creative ideas all come from the users of it.

There are 3 stages of this platform:

In the first stage in 2008, young Chinese created a personal page of inspiration on HP's Chinese web site, culminating in a printed book.

The second stage was recording original hip hop tracks, including producing a hip hop music video distributed to schools and online networks.

The current stage, launched in September 2009, invited Chinese youth to submit film script ideas based on four themes voted on by young consumers — holidays, student dormitories and bedrooms, love and dreams.

" 'My Computer, My Stage' has harnessed untapped creative talent while providing Chinese youth with an opportunity to network, brainstorm and create art, music and film via the internet," said Charles Sampson, CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi, Beijing, which handles digital and traditional marketing for HP in China, " The platform is the result of three years spent researching what the youth of today really care about, and realizing that what they were lacking was a platform for their creativity. A program like this is not cheap but it does provide deep engagement. It pays back because youth really get engaged with the HP brand over three years. The average length of time on the site is about 2.3 minutes, but some people stay for hours."

The platform is like an investing machine who always focus on what the young people is thinking & what do they like recently and things like these. I believe the money HP spent on this platform is really worthy and they will surely be paid back by their successful sales valume in Chinese market, especially the youth market.

Here is the episode of the compaigne of the coming hot movie— A Dog's College Time:

2008, the year in which Beijing hold Olympic Game, had great importance to the enterprises located in China as there would be massive business oppotunities come with the grand meeting. PepsCo had set up the theme of 2008 as "Thumb Up" and around this theme they had launched a series of ad compaigns.
The targeted group of Pepsi is young people who are always fond of sport and music. In such a special 2008, PepsiCo had invited sports stars as Lin Dan, Li Xiaopeng, Yangyang, Li Yongbo etc. to join in their ad compaign. On 3rd, March, PepsiCo invited David Beckham to come to Shanghai to join their opening ceremony for their compaign named "Dancing China".

Here is the episode of it:

Later PepsiCo had released a TV spot as follow:

This vedio had been posted on Tudou on 09/06/2008 and been played for 6618 times. Comments were all about Louis Koo and the concepts of this vedio.

In September PepsiCo had created another ad vedio as follow:

This one had been posted on Tudou on 22/09/2008 and been played for 14326 times. According to the comments which almost thought this vedio was childish, we can see that people did not like this one quite much. Even PepsiCo had 3 stars in this vedio, but the poor plot and action still made people unsatisfactory.

2008 was a sport year for Chinese people and based on this, the ad compaign of PepsiCo this year was aslo focsed on sport.

Recently PepsiCo is promoting brand Pepsi with a campaign called "Activate Your Thirst," including a splashy TV spot that takes the soft drink back to its fantasy-action roots in China. The spot, created by BBDO Worldwide, Shanghai, is a modern adaptation of a chapter in "Journey to the West," one of the four great classics in Chinese literature published anonymously during the Ming dynasty.

The ad features four pop stars sponsored by Pepsi–Louis Koo, Show Luo, Jolin Tsai and Huang Xiaoming–playing the roles of the novel's four famous characters. They are called Master Tang, Monkey King, Pigsy and Sand Monk. Former beauty queen Zhang Zilin, who was Miss World in 2007, appears as the Spider Queen.

Here is the vedio:

This vedio has been posted on Youku one week ago and alread been played for 623025 times! As to the comments, which are as more as 74 pieces, are mainly about these 4 stars and the fans are crazy for their behaviour in this vedio. It's been recommended for 9251 times and 114 people collected this as their favorite.

And also on 21/07 Pepsi has launched its 2010 summer campaign with stars Louis Koo, Show Luo, Jolin Tsai and Huang Xiaoming in Beijing. Here is the episode of the site of activity:

If we compared the TC spots in 2008 and 2010, we can find out that PepsiCo likes to make the vedios more fantastic with high tech and impressive visual effect. Beside the plots, these vedioes are pretty good to watch and to some extent they meet up with the young generation's requirements & needs which are for new & excited staffs. According to the data analysis of the play times of these vedioes, it is obvious that both of these two compaigns have successfully in attracting people's attention.

Anyway, from the comments of the vedio of Pepsi 2010 we can see that the netizens are not so satified with the poor plots and the adaptations of the traditional novel. I do not know if this kind of TV spot will inflence the sales volume of China or not. As to me, if I have not drunk Pepsi before, after the viewing of this vedio, I highly might go to buy one bottle to have a try because I like the stars inside the vedio. But, the content or the concept of this vedio does not work on me.

All in all, I think the 2010 version is much more better than 2008 because it is with better visual effects and people in it are with interesting dress, though the poor plot does not change a lot.

The vedio starts with a sentence "I am thirsty to die!" and from the sticky skin of the actors you may also feel pretty hot and thirsty. With the rising of the camera we are able to see that on the barren mountain there are so many red sipder people who are peeping at these our protagonists. Well at this moment Monkey King(Jolin Tsai) reported that she had found a way and then the Spider Queen(Zhang Zilin) came out suddenly and started attack them. After fighted for a while, Master Tang(Louis Koo) stopped them and told out the truth: "Stop fighting! She is just thirsty." Later he brought out a bottle of Pepsi and shared with the Spider Queen who also shared her treasure--- a bottle of ices! And in the end we got an amazing happy ending--- Master Tang and his disciples were sharing Pepsi which had made them stay together peacefully with the spiders who finally turned into blue ones! Woo, that is the magic of Pepsi!

This vedio has been posted on Youku one week ago and alread been played for 25275 times! All the comments are about these 4 stars and the fans are crazy for their behaviour in this vedio. It's been recommended for 130 times and 28 people collected this as their favorite.

On Tudou this vedio was posted on 25/07 and been played for 1639 times, recommended for 37 times. Comments are still about the stars in this vedio.

On Ku6 this vedo was posted 3 days ago and been played for 2099 times, recommended for 56 times. Comments are about the stars and the music in this vedio.

Befor the official release of this vedio, Pepci also has created a pre-version of it and this one was posted on Tudou as follow:

Here you are able to find some titbits of this vedio.

And surprisingly, this vedio has been payed close attention by the fans of the stars in this vedio. The vedio was posted on Tudou on 15/07, and till now it has been played for 1124413 times! Being recommended for 305 times, the pre-version of the vedio became pretty hot. The comments which are as more as 226 pieces all show great interests in this ad. It just becomes an eye catcher!

After that, on 21/07 Pepsi has launched its 2010 summer campaign with stars Louis Koo, Show Luo, Jolin Tsai and Huang Xiaoming in Beijing. Here are the episodes of the site of activity:

The campaign is also a collaboration with the China Women's Development Foundation, which seeks better care for Chinese in water-deficient regions. "We're leveraging the campaign to drive awareness of the Mother Water Cellar project to encourage people to donate wells to help people in China's interior who don't have access to clean water."

Pepsi will build Mother Water Cellars using donations made in the name of Pepsi drinkers who uploaded posts on Pepsi.cn. Starting in late September, PepsiCo and partner supermarkets and restaurants will organize store-based marketing programs to distribute Pepsi Swirl Glasses and donate more water cellars.

Pepsi's this new ad is "dual purpose," said Chris Tung, PepsiCo's Shanghai-based VP-marketing for China. Marketers in China normally do separate ads for brand-building and corporate social responsibility activities, and this is the reason why they make the compaign a collaboration with the China Women's Development Foundation-- Pepsi wants "to achieve both with great entertaining value and consumer engagement."

The latest ad prints for Mountain Dew which is a newly established brand in China.

To be honest, I do not like these pictures because they seem to be too different from the other ad pictures which I have seen before. My opinion is that as a way to propagandize your product, you need to show us how good your product is or how much benifit your product may bring to me. This kind of threaten-oriented ad, as to me, is sending out a message which forces me to buy it, or I will become old much too quickly. I do not like to be forced, and I believe no one likes to be forced or threatened. Anyway, this is only my personal idea or feeling about this ad compaign.

I have seen some comments which said they think the pictures are funny. Maybe this is because of the difference between Chinese and foreigners.

Recently PILOT has released a series of prints in which the main characters are Leco toy men in order to propagandize their new product Extrafine.

So many people have spent their childhood with Leco toy, so when they happen to see these prints they may think of their rorty childhood and become more interested in this ad. On the other hand, it is really difficult for people to draw such kind of exquisite tattooing on the surface of these mini toy men. That makes us have a direct feeling of how extrafine their new product is!
