After a week of heavy pitches, mixed with management of current projects and re-branding ZeroDegrees site; I’m happy to say I’ve made it through the gauntlet and finally got ZeroDegrees new website up online.
Now bear in mind, I’m not trying to wow you with my adolescent design skills; rather, I’m shooting for ease of communication of what we’re about. Let’s see if it worked.
It’s been an interesting four months for ZeroDegrees; trust me here, “social media” is a vey hot keyword in China and will get your foot in a lot of doors. Now whether you can get the rest of your body through the door is another question, and requires a bit more depth than ability to list different social networks. Clients are savvy, and they know what questions to ask. My advice is to always lead with an idea; and make damn well sure that idea is good.
Would you like to see what we’ve been pitching to multinational clients and 4A agencies so far?
Simply visit the newly designed site and you’ll see the general gist of what we’re pitching. Now I know there are some rabid competitive desperadoes out there who would steal these ideas… in fact one of our clients reported this exact situation; we talked to a potential American “partner” agency, and then that agency went around and pitched our services to our client. People are strange.
So, of course, while I’ll show what we’ve been doing, it still misses the “secret sauce” to keep it in flow; why? Its still all about the creative/content in the end; the paradigm shift is important however; cause while before we dealt with pictures, images, short pithy lines of copy; now social media creative is closer to interactive novels, long direct response copy, and TV shows that last 5-10 seasons vs. a hot summer movie.
Since I’ve made it through the past few weeks with most of my brain intact, I’ll likely try to kill off another small percentage this weekend and then get back with enough to spark LRB back to regular postings. Dear friends, wish me luck; cause being lucky has worked for me so far.

Hi Rand, been a while since I visited.
Awesome to see your new site up, and looking forward to hearing about the latest with ZeroDegrees!
Thanks Duncan – I like your blog (thesis, no?); good article on man bags
Nice work, Rand.
It seems no ZeroDegrees blog anymore. So are you guys only blogging here now?
Ya for now the ZD blog was reabsorbed into LRB. We’ll probably do the ZD blog again, but more company focused. First we need to get some time together though; for now, simplifying is best.
