I wasn’t surprised to learn that the bulk of Social Media evangelists consider the space as a way to promote themselves. Nothing wrong with promoting yourself – I mean we can’t all have a ‘Don King’ like character doing our talking for us.
A report out of SDSU was released this week confirming that Generation Y really is Generation Me. It reported a whopping 57% of people using these Social media tools do so for self-promotion, narcissism and attention seeking. is that really surprising? I don’t imagine it is to most of you – especially those that do actively use Social Media functions to engage, promote and share your thoughts/activities/businesses/and much more!
